In The Act, acclaimed fine art photographer Julia Fullerton-Batten portrays the lives and skills of women who voluntarily engage in the UK sex industry as their career. Each woman’s story is printed on coloured trace sheets that partially obscure the portraits, allowing each to be revealed with the turn of the page. Due to the overt nature of the photography, the book is sealed with a variety of black bindings, including laces, rubbers and strings.
